For A VOS SOUHAITS, the artist creates illustrative embroideries on fabric handkerchiefs. The unexpected combination of image, traditional embroidery and an everyday textile object gives the work its distinctive character. Most of the imagery she uses is gathered online.
Travel also influences Anaïs Beaulieu’s artistic practice, helping her explore the contrasts and polarities of the world around her. Embroidery becomes a cathartic process – a way of transforming lead into gold.
